What we enjoy now at the University of Montana is based on the generosity of thousands and thousands of devoted supporters. For us to be able to sustain what we do, we rely one hundred percent on philanthropy.

Scholarships

Student-athlete scholarships are at the core of our mission and success. Scholarships attract top recruits and allow them to compete at the highest level. They also allow these students to receive a high-quality college education at reduced or no tuition.

Sport-Specific Support

Impact Funds offer the coaching staff the resources to recruit, teach, train and mentor our Grizzlies. With this funding, we will expand our recruiting, ensure student-athletes have the latest equipment and provide unique opportunities for Grizzly student-athletes to succeed academically, athletically and socially.

Facility Improvements

During the silent phase of Campaign Montana, we successfully built and opened two incredible facilities: The Blair and Eric Sprunk Student-Athlete Academic Center, and the Washington-Grizzly Champions Center. With new spaces for our weight rooms and football team, we now can renovate the spaces they left behind in the Adams Center. Plans include renovations to the men’s and women’s basketball locker rooms and equipment rooms, and well as facilities used by women’s volleyball.

Grizzly Scholarship Association

Founded in 1955 as the Century Club, the goals and primary mission of the GSA today are the same as they were then: to raise athletic scholarship dollars to pay the educational costs of UM student-athletes. Your contributions pay approximately $1.5 million of the $5.4 million dollars expended annually on athletic scholarships for more than 300 student-athletes participating in 15 NCAA Division I sports at UM.

During the silent phase of Campaign Montana, donors helped the Grizzly Athletic program take a big step up. With your support, we built a beautiful new field for women’s softball, and opened both the Eric and Blair Sprunk Student-Athlete Academic Center and the Washington Grizzly Champions Center. Facility improvement remains a priority, as we look to renovate the Adams Center, but we also continue to ask for your support for student-athlete scholarships and the individual sports teams you are passionate about.
